David Newens Biography

David Newens was born in Ashbridge, Hertfordshire in 1945. His principal art training was at the Glasgow School of Art in the late 70’s and early 80’s on a part time basis. At this time, the school placed a strong emphasis on rigorous, objective drawing from life – a necessary foundation for portrait or any other objective painting.

After a career in engineering management, strategic planning and property development, David now devotes the majority of his time to painting.
