Biography

David Newens was born in Ashridge, Hertfordshire in 1945. His principal art training was at the Glasgow School of Art in the late 70’s and early 80’s on a part time basis. At this time, the school placed a strong emphasis on rigorous, objective drawing from life – a necessary foundation for portrait or any other objective painting.

After a career in engineering management, strategic planning and property development, David now devotes the majority of his time to painting.

David concentrates on oil painting and drawing in various media.
