As with any double or family portrait, this portrait commission was very much a joint project with the sitters. The arrangement/composition/linkage of the figures has to be natural and never contrived. Although I may suggest ideas, certainly about settings, backgrounds and lighting, it is imperative that sitters relax into natural poses, hand positions, expressions etc.
